Are Celebrancy Qualification Accredited?

If you are thinking about embarking on a new career that would be enhanced by formal qualifications, then you need to ensure that those qualifications are properly accredited by a recognised Awarding Organisation.

What does ‘accreditation’ mean in this context? Well, it means that the course and qualification have been recognised and approved by a professional body / authority. For example, if you wanted to become an accountant, you’d be better off looking for a course accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). By taking an accredited course, you can be assured of quality in the materials and skills you learn, but also your future customers will know that you have been recognised in your field by an authority.

Are All Celebrancy Courses Accredited?

In celebrancy, it is possible to do a training course that is not accredited. But we do not recommend this. At the International College of Professional Celebrants we offer two accredited celebrancy qualifications that you can complete during or after your 5 day training. These qualifications are proof that you know and understand your profession, and are trained in the type of ceremonies you deliver. It’s a bit like in nursing - nurses learn how to do their job by attending training. They then demonstrate their ability to provide a nursing service by completing their exams and registering with a body.

With online learning now being the norm, and a range of training colleges available, it’s easy to fall into the trap of completing a non-accredited celebrancy course. Choosing this type of course might not have the content needed to give your career the best start.

By taking an accredited qualification, you are ensuring the best quality learning, and offering the highest standards to your clients too.

What is NOCN?

The National Open College Network (NOCN), formerly known as the Open College Network (OCN), is an Awarding Organisation in the United Kingdom that accredits and formally recognises adult learning.

With The International College of Professional Celebrants, you do your training (whether it be residential or online) and also take a Level 3 NOCN recognised certificate. The other option is to do the more comprehensive Platinum Double Diploma, which is the highest qualification you can achieve in this industry. It gives you everything you need to know about celebrancy, funerals, weddings, naming ceremonies, business, marketing and much more. If you enter your celebrancy career with this qualification, you will already be head and shoulders above your peers in terms of the quality of your qualification.

Display it proudly on your website, on your office wall, or on your social media pages and make sure your customers know that you have received the highest level of training.
